If I Said Goodbye

If I said goodbye, would it all end?

Would I never again have to hear

the sounds of hand to skin?

If it all stopped now,

what would be left?

Hollowness left by all the hate,

and the scars from the everlasting pain.

Would their disappointment wash away,

along with the memories of me?

Maybe then their dreams would come true,

as the burden of this life lifted.

As the lights fade out of my eyes,

would the stress and anger fade away?

When the last goodbye slipped past my lips,

they would sit silently and unknowingly.

Not knowing that soon,

all their dreams could come true.
