My Eyes

When you look into my eyes,

What do you see?

A ghost from my past-

the shell of who I used to be?

Do the things that haunt me in the dark

Swim within me mid day?

The shadows of my Demons

hang just below my eyes.

They sit proudly like a trophy, a reward

A prize.

The scars are both visible,

and on the inside

They are hidden by a wall,

Made up of all my lies.

So tell me,

What do you see,

When you look into my eyes?
